Advent Week 2: The War

The War of 1-2 Samuel points to the Victory of God which came about in Jesus.
For us this means that, in Hannah's words, "the bows of the mighty are broken" and so we do not need to be afraid. It also means that, "the feeble bind on strength," which is a call to armor ourselves with Jesus' victory and go do some good. (see: 1 Sam 2:4; Eph 6:10f)
