Micah 3-5: Is There No King in You?

Micah centers around a faith-tension—Why are you looking to these political leaders and listening to these spiritual leaders whom God will not pay attention to? Which is bad enough by itself. But in Micah 4:9 the prophet draws attention to an extraordinary reality which makes their situation all the more foolish: They have God’s great King in them. They exist around and under the kingship of God and the hope of God’s Messiah. How can they live like they need leadership?
