Advent 2021 - The Real Christmas Spirit: Psalm 139:19-24

Psalm 139:19 marks a sharp contrast with the rest of the Psalm. What is happening in these kind-of disturbing verses?

We watch the psalmist go from blaming the people around him for the grief in his life to realizing that the grievous way is within him.

The Psalm ends in a counterpoint to how it begins. In the beginning, the Lord searched and knows us and walks with us. At the end, the psalmist invites the Lord to search him and know him and to lead him.
