All the Glory: 2 Corinthians 2:12-3:18
Do we believe in the Gospel?
I don’t mean simply whether we believe that the Gospel offers salvation and forgiveness and justification and eternal life and such things. I mean, do we believe that the Gospel is the Power of God that saves, the wisdom of God that guides, the glory of God in Christ means to transform us?
Paul’s concern in 2 Corinthians 2-3 (and beyond) is to convince the Corinthian church to believe in his Gospel-ministry. Along the way, Paul gives us good reason to believe in our own Gospel-ministry.
In short, it all depends on the Spirit. By the work of the Spirit, all we search the world for in vain is delivered to us in Christ. By the glorious power of the Spirit we are able to see God’s glory in Jesus when we hear the Gospel message. Truly, all the glory is here, with our God!
