A few weeks ago we talked about Reaching the Next Generation, which, of course, involves parenting.

Ed Welch, from CCEF, recently posted a short article entitled: Successful Parenting.

What’s great about it is how much he emphasizes Jesus and puts the relational priorities in the right order: parents must love Jesus and be growing in that relationship, or the understanding of Jesus they deliver to their children will be a stale history lesson instead of a genuine friendship.

The Easter sermon focused on two announcements of the Resurrection of Jesus: 1.  The Cross was a success.  2.  The Promises of God are, “Yes!”

Easter Sermon: Audio.

The following week we focused on what happens next, at least in Matthew’s version of the story: the Great Commission.  This means Discipleship, aka. friendship, aka. actual relationships.  The is the central and sole focus of Fellowship Bible Church.

But this time we dug a little deeper, or turned a different direction, and tried to get ourselves in a place where we all had something real we could take home and do to be obeying Jesus’ great and final command.

Mission Sermon: Audio.

We have not been able to capture the audio for the last two week’s sermons.  In lieu of not having that audio I thought I would at least link to an article that I have been wrestling with lately:

Is God Picky? by Ed Welch

This was in interesting morning, eh?

The projector dies… we’re missing a cable… we lose power… a gentlemen has to fix some (probably electrical) stuff during the sermon… the sermon was not recorded… the kids were extra fussy… and a general edgy kind-of-funk laid on a lot of people.

Weird?  Sure.  But certainly no coincidence.  Satan loves to disrupt, distract, destroy anything that’s about Jesus.

We should be thankful that it doesn’t happen every week.  That it only happens once in a while means that God is answering prayers and protecting us.

So, No Audio today.

Here’s a thought: if you are someone in our church who checks this website every so often, what would you like to see more of here?

Today we had the opportunity to hear from Jim and Barbara Grunseth.

Jim delivered a message entitled: “The Three ‘Musts’ of Marriage.”

Jim and Barbara’s book: “Remember the Rowboats.

Two weeks ago we prayed for Maryam and Marzieh, two young Iranian Christian women who were being held in a prison in Iran.  THEY WERE RELEASED NOVEMBER 18TH!!!!  Do the Divine-math.  God’s waiting to display His glory.  Pray and wait and watch and see!

P.S.  The audio hasn’t been coming through for the last few sermons.  Sorry.

Thanks: LeAnn.

Many people have trouble finding time to read good books, or perhaps they don’t know what books are good and worth spending their time on.   Here are a some suggestions and opportunities.

This month only ChristianAudio.com is offering Desiring God, by John Piper for free.  This is one of the most important theological and spiritual Christian books of the 20th century.   Desiring God at ChristianAudio.com.  You’ll also find that all of John Piper’s books are available for $5.00 each this month only: John Piper sale.

Also, for the next week, Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) is offering the CCEF Library of Classics for just $99.  Savings of 52%.  And probably more valuable than gold.

DesiringGod and CCEF are a few positive ministries that I’ve really benefited from.  -david
