Sorry, no sermon audio today.  Apparently my recorder went half-way through.  It was a fabulous passage to meditate on.  At least you can do that with or without the sermon’s audio.

Isaiah 11:1-9

Spiritual Warfare.

Strategic Measures.  Tactical Analysis.

Where does satan focus his energy and resources? On keeping you away from ‘doing God’s will.’  To do that he must divert our attentions from three things: Prayer, Scripture, and the Fellowship of Other Believers.

If he can successfully keep us away from these God-ordained devices, then he can successfully hinder the spread of God’s Kingdom.

Some of the passages we read this morning are less familiar, but no less powerful for that.  Here is a list of them: Isaiah 43:1-11 with Luke 21:12-19; Lamentations 3:1-23; Psalm 57:1-11 with Psalm 23:1-6; and Isaiah 40:25-31 to close..

Here is the complete audio from our 3 week walk-through the Old Testament following the traditional Hebrew divisions: Torah (Law), Nebiim (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings).

This Sunday was a bizarre departure from the Norm’.  A Smorgasbord Sunday.  Little of this…little of that.  We’ve split the audio into three distinct sections so that, if you want to listen to one part of it, it will be easier to find.

This Sunday we looked at the second major division in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament): the Prophets.

What was the message of the prophets?  Prophet’s Sermon Audio.

This week we began a study through the TaNaK.  What’s that?  The T-orah (the law) and the N-ebiim (the prophets) and the K-etuvim (the writings).  These are the three traditional divisions of the Old Testament.

This week we started with the Torah.  What is the message of the Torah?

Torah: Sermon Audio.

This Sunday we smashed up a two-part character study into a one week look at the stories of brother-and-sister pair, Miriam and Moses.

Also, here is the sermon audio from last week’s guest speaker, my good friend, Chris Bruno, challenging us from Luke 10.  2010.10.03_Chris Bruno

Hebrews 10 calls us to shore up our confidence in God by turning, as Hebrews does, to examples of faith (chp. 11).  So that is what this week and next week are dedicated to doing.  This week we look at Tamar, wife of Er, mother of the son of Judah who would inherit the promise of Abraham.

Tamar.  Sermon Audio.

Next week: Joseph.
