Paul’s in Corinth this week: Acts 18:1-17.

We focused in on the words of Jesus to Paul in vv. 9-10: “Don’t be afraid, Paul; stop back off or stop talking about Me.  Listen, I will be with you!  Nothing’s going to happen.  Listen, I’ve got people ready’n'waiting out there for you to mention Me.”

Sermon Audio: Acts 18:1-17.

Very Important Passage!  Acts 17:16-34.

Paul at Athens before a completely pagan crowd…kind of like our world!

And what matters most?  Technique, Skill?  Nope.  Heart.

Sermon Audio: Acts 17:16-34.

Acts 16, the beginning of Paul’s Second Missionary Journey.  Paul at Philippi.

The story behind the stories of this chapter are this: how on earth does all this mess and frustration and confusion result in conversions and become the Philippian church?  That’s what we explored today.

Which is what we need, because all of us have mess and frustration and confusion.  Only we can’t imagine how it could result in anything other than increased mess and pain.  But the Bible tells us over and over again that ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN WITH GOD.

We need to factor that in.

And if ANYTHING can happen, then, well, I can go ahead and try something.

If ANYTHING can happen, then, also, I should get ready.

This Sunday we examined Acts 15 for a second time.
In week one we puzzled over the very occassion for this debate: didn’t the early church understand that they were saved by the grace of Jesus?  Why did they have the debate?
This week we puzzled over the letter sent from Jerusalem: weren’t restrictions and requirements bad?  Wasn’t this contrary to all the grace-stuff from before?
Sermon Audio: Acts 15:19-31.

Part 1 of 2 on Acts 15, the center of the book of Acts.

Sermon Audio: Acts 15:1-19.

Acts 13-14, Paul’s First Missionary Journey

+the key to life and everything else

Sermon Audio: Acts 13:1-14:28.

In response to the Gentile-Explosion of the church in Acts 10-11, the enemies of God react with violence.  James is dead; Peter’s next.  What will happen?

We know Jesus can save; we know He will win.  But we can’t imagine it…not this time.  It’s too much.

Oh, of course it isn’t.  But we have a hard time feeling that Jesus can save us.

We all wonder, deep, deep down: is it real?

Sermon Audio: Acts 12.1-24.
